Curriculum
Our Mel Maria educational philosophy transforms how we learn and lead. The Early Childhood Campus five foundations (invite, inspire, involve, inquire, innovate) guide our approach to education alongside the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF), and National Quality Standards (NQS). By providing engaging and enriching experiences, we aim to ignite a passion for learning and exploration in our young learners, empowering each child to flourish and have success. These foundation learning dispositions form the basis of the fundamental skill set extended upon in the primary years through our five learning dispositions: curriculum engagement, critical thinking, collaboration, communication and creativity and innovation.
We embrace a holistic approach to learning prioritising the wellbeing of each child. We believe that a child’s spiritual, social, emotional and physical wellbeing is fundamental to their overall development. Our early childhood learning experiences cater to the diverse needs of every student, utilising nature and outdoor education for hands-on learning. Drawing inspiration from play pedagogies, our educators create progressive academic educational experiences that challenge students to think critically and creatively. The Primary Campus further activates and drives academic learning through creative methods that promote teamwork, research, problem-solving and independent learning.
Our teaching and learning programs incorporate the seven general capabilities outlined by the School Curriculum and Standards Authority: critical and creative thinking, personal and social capability, ethical understanding, intercultural understanding, digital literacy capability, literacy and numeracy.
