School libraries hit by budget cuts

Has your school library been affected by cuts? 

Researchers have expressed alarm about cuts to library budgets and staff, claiming teacher librarians have been the biggest casualty.

Dr Margaret Merga from ECU said library staff have never felt so vulnerable.

"We know that morale is pretty low at the moment," she said. "We know that positions and funding are both dwindling."

We spoke to some young bookworms from Mel Maria Catholic Primary School in Perth about what their library means to them. Their responses were adorable.
