Marketing and Communications Consultant -Part Time (0.4 FTE)

Job Description

The Marketing and Communications Consultant is responsible for developing and utilising marketing, communications and media to promote Mel Maria Catholic Primary School, and identify opportunities to raise our profile as a co-educational Catholic Primary School. 

Reporting to the Principal, the position plays an important role in developing and maintaining a strong and collaborative school community and brand to optimise school enrolments. You will be working collaboratively with the School’s Executive team, Administration, teaching staff, the Parents & Friends’ Association and external stakeholders as required. 

Other duties such as office administration may be required as directed by the Principal and Heads of Campus. An engaging, forward thinking and positive personality is a key aspect of this role.

Key responsibilities and duties

The role includes both creative and administrative tasks, such as (but not limited to): 

  •  Identifying opportunities and developing material to promote our school to the current and prospective school community.
  • Deliver marketing campaigns that are designed to increase student enrolments.
  • Drafting and scheduling social media posts, ensuring brand alignment and positive user engagement with the local community.
  • Manage the content on our School App and update accordingly.
  • Design promotional material to advertise school-based events to our community.
  • Update content on our school website.
  • Assisting with key events from marketing material to photography and promotion.
  • Creating and biweekly school e-newsletters; and
  • Managing the use of the Mel Maria Catholic Primary School brand across all school and external applications, including the use of photography, signage and social media.

The ideal candidate will also be available to attend school events and functions, to photograph and promote where necessary.

Administration Officer - Full time - Temporary

Job Description

We are looking for a suitably experienced Administration Officer to join our Administration Team commencing as soon as possible. This position is responsible for answering the phones and provide general administration assistance.

Selection Criteria:

  • Be fully supportive of the ethos and objectives of Catholic Education and have an understanding and ability to contribute to the mission and vision of Mel Maria Catholic Primary School.
  • Experience in enrolments, school administration and front desk duties within a primary school setting.
  • Strong technical skills including experience in AoS, SEQTA and Microsoft Office are essential.
  • Demonstrate integrity, loyalty and an ability to maintain confidentiality on key issues.
  • Have a professional attitude and ability to organise and prioritise tasks working independently and as part of a cohesive team.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with staff, students and parents.
  • Have a sense of pride and enjoys the work they do.
